Archetypes & Classes

Skitterbarren offers three Archetypes, which offer base character functionality and core progression rules. These support and guide each Archetype's three classes, which add unique features and flavor as the Archetype progresses. Players may only choose a singular class within a selected Archetype, though there are generic features that are shared between all Archetypes.

Brawlers

Brawlers tend to be melee-oriented, can wear heavy armor, wield shields and heavy melee weapons, and take much in the way of physical punishment.

Burrowguards

Burrowguards are stalwart shield bearers serving as valiant defenders of hearth, home, and kin.

Grudgebearers

Grudgebearers are vicious warriors fueled by revenge, loss, or ancient vendettas.

Knucklethumpers

Knucklethumpers are pugilists who have honed their body to be their weapon of choice.

Scrappers

Scrappers focus on ranged or short-blade weaponry, can wear medium armor, wield advanced ranged, and simple melee weapons, and often avoid damage through positioning.

Kaboomists

Kaboomists are practitioners of the art of throwing batteries until something explodes.

Mixmancers

Mixmancers are chemists that use concoctions and unstable blends to rejuvenate allies and harm enemies.

Pipecrackers

Pipecrackers are rogues who use advanced and experimental firearms when all else fails.

Wyrdos

Wyrdos dedicate themselves to the power of the Wyrd. They wear light armor, wield a focus to cast spells that may strengthen or heal allies, or weaken or damage foes.

Torchbearers

Torchbearers are clerics who bring forth the Light of the Allbright to shine through the darkness and heal their allies.

Gloomscrapers

Gloomscrapers are warlocks serving powerful otherworldly masters to wield the rot of the Gloom, terrorizing their foes and warping nature itself.

Glowbrands

Glowbrands are academic wizards who use the power of the Glow dimension to conjure elemental fury.
